Cover Creation

Peter Belanger’s time lapse of creating the latest cover for Macworld Magazine. So much fun to watch.

The music is really cool too!

Won Park’s unbelievable koi fish origami, made with a single dollar bill. It even has eyes and scales. He shares the instructions, if you feel like giving it a shot.
Wow! Amazing!

Wow, America, your health care system really DOES suck

haguenite:

I hadn’t read through the plan of my American health insurance, because I didn’t see the point before. My insurance in The Netherlands couldn’t let me out (it’s the law, fuckers) and they wouldn’t sign a statement they’d cover at least $50,000 of health care costs in the US. They wouldn’t sign anything, but they’d cover any and all costs incurred. Still, that wasn’t enough for the college, they needed a signed statement.

So, that left me with double health insurance. 600 euros for 10 months + $1300 for 10 months. Can you blame me for not being remotely interested in what I was signing up for?

Anyway, I finally decided to have a look and what do you know? There’s a goddamn co-pay for EVERYTHING. I mean, the first $200 you need to cover yourself, which is the same as my plan in The Netherlands. But co-pays? Like, if you go to a doctor, 50 bucks. Emergency room, 75 bucks. Talk with a therapist, 20% for the first 5 sessions, 50% for the 6th-20th. Medicine? Co-pay.

WHAT THE FUCK AM I PAYING THOSE 1200 DOLLARS FOR YOU MOTHERFUCKERS.

(This rant was brough to you by a European with health care entitlement issues, who never had to pay for a doctor or medication before)
